Bretagne : breathtaking picture book on Brittany and must-have calendar by Mathias Bothor, published by Mare

Following South Africa’s Coasts, this winter a new picture book, with an added calendar, takes us on a journey through breathtaking natural landscapes. This time round we are taken to Brittany and its steep coasts, which the French refer to as “land by the sea”. Mathias BOTHOR c/o GUNDA PATZKE spent months travelling across this wind and sea beaten land for Mare magazine. He met up with the headstrong locals and captured a highly unique image of the West French region.

From painterly houses in dreamy villages, to weather hardy fishermen on their boats – the photographer brings us closer to the phenomenal feeling of Brittany: a sense of nostalgia.

The calendar measures 82 x 58 cm and is priced at 49 € / 84 sfr. It contains 13 photographs, as well as a postcard set with various motifs.

Meet Mathias Bothor in person on Friday, 16 October at the Frankfurt book fair, where BRETAGNE will be presented on the Mare publications stall. We are sure Mathias will be happy to share gripping stories and interesting experiences with many an interested visitor.

The editor is Nikolaus Gelpke, whose passion for the seas led to the concept of Mare. He is both the Editor in Chief and Publisher at the same time.
